Baby House at SL – Nov 2025
In 2025 we built a Baby House for incoming sun bear cubs at the BOSF sanctuary of Samboja Lestari, in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. This new Baby House is designed for cubs and keeper to live under the same roof, but with distinct quarters, to allow the cubs to stay with their foster parent 24/7, ensuring they feel secure and supported throughout their growing up.

All around the Baby House is rainforest with creeks, large trees, plenty of rotting logs and the local wildlife. A perfect natural environment for walking the cubs every day, allowing them to develop all the skills they need to become healthy and confident adult bears.
